Design & Source Productions has received New York Enterprise Report magazine’s first “Best Green Business” award. The award was presented to company founder and CEO Laura Tufariello. The magazine annually honors the best of New York’s small businesses. This year’s awards included a topical “green” category.
 
Founded in 1996, Design & Source Productions operates a completely wind-powered showroom in midtown Manhattan, and offices in Miami, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shanghai. Cham-eleon Packaging, the company’s environmental division, specializes in sustainable packaging materials, including Terraskin tree-free paper made from stones, and shopping bags made with a leather-like material created from grocery bags found littered on the streets of India. Additional products include fabric made from recycled bottles, corn, and bamboo, as well as molded pulps made from bamboo, sugarcane and
recycled fibers.
